Friction belay for use on climbing walls which removes the need for a belayer. The device is fitted to the belay point and the belay rope pulled out to attach to the climber. If the climber falls at any stage or just wants to return to the ground the autobelay lowers the climber at a controlled rate slowly back to the ground.
